UPDATE: Crash injures postal delivery driver

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff's Office are investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at the intersection of state routes 292 and 47 about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Alanda K. Hilty, 44, of West Mansfield a United States Postal Service rural delivery driver in a car, reportedly suffered possible broken bones and was taken by Bokescreek squad to Mary Rutan Hospital, responders report.


Thomas W. Russell, 60, of Kenton, was operating a southbound pickup on S.R. 292 when he stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection. He drove into the path of an eastbound car operated by Ms. Hilty.


Mr. Russell did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to yield. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
