Deputies responded about 4:35 p.m. to Gregory Long’s 229 Cretcher St., DeGraff, residence for a theft complaint.

Mr. Long, 51, told deputies he had been working with Mr. Brown Wednesday when he left the suspect in his truck for a brief period. When Mr. Long returned to his truck, the suspect said he had to leave because of problems with children.

Mr. Long noticed some rolled coins were missing from the vehicle. He later confronted the suspect who denied taking the coins. He then checked with an area business and discovered the suspect had used the coins to purchase cigarettes.

Deputies questioned Mr. Brown who admitted to taking the coins.

The suspect was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
