Bellefontaine Board of Education members approved at their Monday evening meeting an economic package agreement with classified staff members that will include raises for the upcoming school year.
Superintendent Beth Harman reported that a 2.5 percent raise for 2014-15 is part of the negotiated agreement with the Ohio Association of Public School Employees. This economic package re-opener is part of the current contract with OAPSE that continues through Aug. 31, 2016.
Similarly, at a recent board meeting, certified staff members also were extended a 2.5 percent raise following a negotiated agreement with the Bellefontaine Education Association, as previously reported in the Examiner.
In other financial matters, the board approved the purchase of two buses from Cardinal, the lowest and best bidder who can deliver within Educational Purchasing Council guidelines. The purchase will include a 72-passenger bus for $78,882, and an 84-passenger bus for $87,852.
