Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department continue to investigate an 8:15 p.m. traffic crash Monday which injured motorcyclist Thomas Gearheart, 51, of Vandalia.
Mr. Gearheart was flown from Bellefontaine to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries which may have included one of his legs.
The motorcyclist was northbound on Madriver Street, ran a red light, entered the intersection at Sandusky Avenue and traveled into the path of a westbound pickup truck operated by Manuel Sales, 54, of Bellefontaine.
Personnel of the Bellefontaine Fire and EMS Department assisted at the scene and transported the victim.
He was listed in critical condition prior to surgery Monday night.
