During the regular Huntsville Village Council meeting Tuesday, Alliance of Community Partnership representatives Greg Luzader and Bill Rapp asked council to consider putting aside money in the budget to help fund a “school resource officer” for a year at the Indian Lake Middle School to promote social and emotional learning and character development of youths.
ACP, they said, is in the process of applying for 501-3C non-profit group so that the community can take tax deductions for donations. These gifts, along with grants, town and township funds, and county monies will supply the resources to secure officers.
As the program develops, ACP intends to expand to all Logan County school campuses. Discussions will continue at a later date.
