Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Quincy area man on arson charges Tuesday afternoon related to several fires in the Quincy area, including a fire at his own residence.
Jordan C. Russell, 25, of 105 South St., Quincy, was charged Tuesday with two counts of felony aggravated arson related to fires Dec. 8 at the 106 Camby St., Quincy, residence, above, and March 15 at 107 South St. in the village. (EXAMINER FILE PHOTO | T.J. HUBBARD)
Jordan C. Russell, 25, of 105 South St., Quincy, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated arson and was lodged in the Logan County Jail about 6:30 p.m.
Last week, deputies began investigating the defendant after receiving information concerning several fires in the Quincy area.
Mr. Russell was charged with starting fires Dec. 8 at 106 Canby St., Quincy, which was his residence at the time, and also March 15 at 107 South St. in the village. Both residences were occupied at the time of the reported fires.
Deputies were assisted by investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The investigation continues regarding these incidents. Additional cases involving the defendant are expected to be presented to a Logan County Grand Jury.
