Logan County Fair Board on Wednesday authorized a couple of loose ends during its final regular meeting ahead of the 2014 exposition, including approval of a portable toilet provider and a load of sawdust for the show arena.
Kelly’s Septic Service will provide portable toilets for the fairgrounds at a cost of $2,700, which is the same as last year, according to board action.
The board also approved a load of sawdust to be unloaded at the show arena about a week before the fair at a cost of about $700.
Jim Greer, lead singer of the Mac-O-Chee Valley Folks, has come down with a health problem that will prevent his group from performing during this year’s fair. Muleskinner Band will fill in, the board reports.
The fair board still needs some straw to use during the motorcycle races, and pine wood for the wood carver, entertainment committee members said.
