Riverside High School Class of 2014 valedictorian Aubrey Courter encouraged her classmates to take a brave step forward into their futures and not be afraid of falling down during her speech Friday evening at the school’s graduation ceremony.

“My advice to you is not to be afraid of failure. Everyone fails; it’s is simply a part of life. If your whole life is spent being afraid of failure, then you will never know what you are capable of.
“Have courage to follow your dreams and commit to the adventure. Just have faith in the skills and knowledge you have been blessed with and go.”
She said their final day of high school together was “bittersweet,” and stated, “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to go through high school with. Each and every one of you guys are smart, creative, determined and highly talented.”
