The United Way of Logan County Board of Trustees have revised the New Venture Fund policy.

The New Venture Fund is created from funds that remain after the allocation process. The fund has has been increased this year to allow United Way of Logan County to have resources throughout the year to fund programs as they become available.

Any non-profit organization or applicant agency providing human services in Logan County is eligible to apply for the New Venture Fund by June 27.

Applications are available at the United Way of Logan County office. Agencies must develop a program or initiative based on unmet needs in Logan County. Data from the 2012 Logan County Community Health Risk and Needs Assessment will be used to determine priority needs. The proposed program must demonstrate clear and positive outcomes.

The Board of Trustees, acting upon the recommendation of the Admission and Allocation Committee, approved funding for the Neighborhood Outreach Centers Summer Lunch Program. Aaron Pool and Drew Shick, directors for the Chippewa, Western and Russells Point Neighborhood Outreach Centers submitted a request for $4,000 to provide free, nutritious meals for those attending Chippewa and Western Neighborhood Outreach Center’s summer programs.

Contact the United Way office at 592-2886 for further information and guidelines.
