BLES students conduct hands-on field trip

Fourth-grade students at Benjamin Logan Elementary School took a field trip Wednesday to release their cold water friends into the Mad River.
By going to Hall-Fawcett Park in Zanesfield, the students are able to test the water to make sure it was safe for their cold water friends.
“We raised brown trout to release into the Mad River earlier in the year,” said fourth-grade teacher Gretchen Powell. “We just want to make sure the water is clean for them. We try to see how the water quality has changed between our first visit and our second.”
