Huntsville man charged with assault of infant daughter

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report a Huntsville man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on multiple felony charges relating to the alleged assault of his 2-month-old child.



Steven A. Cummins, 20, of 6675 Willoby Drive, has been charged with child endangering and felonious assault, relating to serious injuries sustained by his daughter.

Tuesday, deputies were contacted by officials from Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus regarding an infant patient with serious injuries. Hospital officials called the injuries “suspicious in nature.”

Deputies and representatives from Logan County Children's Services immediately began their investigation. Authorities interviewed the child's parents Wednesday.

The child remains hospitalized at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

The defendant was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
