West Liberty Village Council during a regular meeting this week approved repairs to one of its police cruisers and discussed a cost estimate to replace the faulty bridge near Dodge Park.
Council members approved a total of $1,200 in repairs to the cruiser’s steering rack, water pump and gas tank.
Police Chief Shane Oelker acknowledged that council has just purchased a new police cruiser, but reasoned the repaired Crown Victoria should stay with the department so that it could be put to use during parades, fireworks, the luminary run and on Labor Day.
