Safety Town to start June 9

The Bellefontaine Exchange Club sponsors its 53rd annual Safety Town program this summer. It is open to all county children who are entering kindergarten in the fall.

Local law enforcement officers train young children in pedestrian safety, traffic signals and signs, fire safety, good and bad touching, avoiding strangers in vehicles and hazards of drug abuse.

All sessions are at Mac-ACheek Learning Center, 1130 W. Sandusky Ave., but the school does not manage the program.

Sessions are split between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. starts. The program is conducted over four to five days.

Weekly starts are June 9, 16, 23 and 30 (no class on July 4) and July 7.

Registration forms are available HERE for children who did not sign up at kindergarten registration days.

Forms can be mailed to Tim Notestine, City Engineer, 135 N. Detroit St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311; sent via fax 592-0655; or returned via e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
