Treasurer extended 5-year contract

Bellefontaine Chiefs

The Bellefontaine Schools Board of Education extended a five-year contract to its treasurer and chief financial officer Keith Krieger during its Monday evening meeting.

His contract is effective Aug. 1 through July 31, 2019. President Joan Haushalter administered the oath of office to Mr. Krieger.

This action follows the board's "excellent" evalutation of the treasurer at the last regular meeting earlier this month. Mrs. Haushalter said the board is appreciative of Mr. Krieger's strong commitment to the district and the expertise he brings to the position.

"Keith continues to provide excellent, professional service to our district," she said following the previous meeting. "His sound financial projections, conservative fiscal leadership and high ethical standards are an invaluable resource and benefit to the board and district."

In other personnel matters, members accepted the retirement resignations of Sara Stahler, elementary school and intermediate school art, and Stephen "Paul" Hostetler, middle school custodian, effective May 30 and Aug. 1, respectively.

Mrs. Stahler has worked in the district for 30 years, while Mr. Hostetler is a 10-year district employee.
