Bellefontaine firefighters used the city’s ladder truck to rescue a man stuck 50 feet up in a bucket lift around 6 p.m. Thursday.
Providing mutual aid to Huntsville Fire Department, the firefighters responded to Old Mill Campground, 3939 W. County Road 37, and found the unnamed male in the bucket of a lift truck.
The man, who was trimming trees at the campground, was wearing a harness and was not in distress.
The lift appeared to be at its maximum elevation when the truck broke down. It would start, but would not continue to run, firefighters report.
They were able to extend the ladder truck’s 100-foot boom and assist the male from the bucket lift onto the ladder’s platform.
He was lowered without incident.
