Quincy seeks cell phone, computer use policy

Quincy Village Council members this week in a regular meeting directed their solicitor to draw up a policy governing the use of village-owned cell phones and computers.

Solicitor Steve Fansler will write the policy, which council has asked to cover texting and sending images as well as Internet browsing, which should be limited to matters pertaining to the village, according to council.

No such policy is currently in place, council reports. Members of council could see a draft of the policy by their next meeting.

Replacement of several manhole covers throughout the village is being considered. A “revolving” loan through the Environmental Protection Agency has been discussed. Council said it will have to compile more information before a decision is made.
