Logan County Art League invites the public to view pieces of art from 11 local artists in a contemplation and discussion time that begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at The Gallery at the Holland Theatre, 127 E. Columbus Ave.
The local event will be staged in conjunction with Slow Art Day, a global movement that aims to transform the art-viewing experience by encouraging people to consider pieces for an hour or more.
Slow Art Day events at the Holland will begin with a guided tour of the art on display. Attendees may register online for a “View Five Discussion,” and will participate in a guided discussion of selected pieces by Karen Feltham, who will host the event.
This is the sixth international Slow Art Day. Logan County Art League first hosted Slow Art Day experiences in 2012.
No art-related experience or training is necessary, organizers stress.
Volunteer hosts organize local events using the tools and support available at the Slow Art Day Web site, www.slowartday.com. Find more information on Facebook, www.facebook.com/SlowArtDay.
