Public officials to help deliver Meals on Wheels

Tri-County Community Action of Logan, Champaign and Shelby Counties announces that several area officials will participate this week in Community Champions Week by helping to deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels program.

Officials who will be delivering meals include Mayor Rhonda Fulmer of Belle Center, Mayor Ryan Shoffstall of Lakeview, Mayor Robin Reames of Russells Point, Mayor Jason Keeran of North Lewisburg, Village Administrator Joe Sampson of St. Paris and West Liberty Police Chief Shane Oelker. They are participating in the event to show their support for homebound and hungry seniors.

Community Champions Week is offered as a part of the March for Meals campaign, which is initiated by the Meals On Wheels Association of America to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community.

Tri-County Community Action’s Meals on Wheels serves more than 1,000 meals in Champaign and Logan counties per week. To help support the Meals on Wheels program through volunteering or donations, call 593-0034 or (800) 256-4497.
