Linda A. Simpson, 48, of 106 N. Koke St., DeGraff, was issued a summons for child endangering following an incident Tuesday afternoon in DeGraff.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the village about 12:25 p.m. on a report of a truck driver who observed a small child trying to cross State Route 235.
The driver reportedly stopped his truck and got out and talked with the child, age 5, who led the truck driver to Ms. Simpson’s residence.
The child’s grandmother, Ms. Simpson, reported to deputies that she had fallen asleep while watching the 5-year-old and a 3-year-old and the children had gotten out of the house. She was issued the summons.
Teen cited in non-injury crash
Tristan Miller, 17, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control following a non-injury crash Tuesday on Township Road 135.
He reportedly was operating a northbound car just south of State Route 47 when he drove off the road and struck a ditch and a fence.
The driver was wearing his seat belt. Damage was heavy to the car and light to the fence.
