Law enforcement to host alcohol sales training

Course free to local bartenders

A citizen’s complaint about underage drinking and overselling to patrons at a downtown Bellefontaine bar prompted the Bellefontaine Police Department to set up a training opportunity for anyone who sells alcohol at a permitted establishment.

Sgt. Chris Marlow was tasked with scheduling the free session which is set for 3 p.m. March 24.

He acknowledges it has taken time but the department did not ignore the concerns Sandra Enderle raised before the Bellefontaine City Council in early September.

She was upset bartenders served her son, Anthony Garman Jr., too many drinks which led to a drunk driving arrest.
