Health commissioner extended new contract, raise

Accreditation coordinator hired

Logan County District Board of Health members extended a one-year contract to Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott during their Wednesday afternoon meeting.

Following a 10-minute executive session, the board voted unanimously to offer the renewed contract with a $3,000 raise. His new salary will be $55,000 per year, and members noted that the health commissioner had not been issued a raise since 2008.

Dr. Hoddinott also is a physician with the private practice Maple Leaf Family and Sports Medicine, 2211 Timber Trail.

A contract for a back-up health commissioner was issued to Dr. J. Christopher O’Connor at the rate of $1 per annum and $75 per hour if his services are needed when Dr. Hoddinott is unavailable.

In personnel matters, the board confirmed the hiring of David Fullmer for a new position — accreditation and quality improvement coordinator. His 180-day probationary contract lists his salary as $19.77 per hour for 35 hours per week.
