A daily dose of faith is all it takes to get you by, Logan County’s second oldest resident says.

“I praise the Lord that He kept me in a way I can still look after myself,” said Dorothy Jordan, who celebrated her 105th birthday March 2. “It’s just living close to the Lord.”
Ms. Jordan, who has lived at Logan Acres for the past four years, was born and spent most of her life in and around Butler, Pa.
She is just a few weeks in age behind Bellefontaine resident Juanita Rothrock, who celebrated her 105th birthday Feb. 19 and is believed to be the oldest resident of Logan County.
And like Ms. Rothrock, who attributes her longevity to eating cherries daily, Ms. Jordan said she also enjoys the fruit.
“I do like sweet cherries,” she said.
In fact, they were even part of the special cake recipe she enjoyed with family members and other Logan Acres residents during the Sunday afternoon birthday party.
