SIDNEY — A local resident was among a handful of apprehensions logged Friday by officers of Sidney Police Department, arrests that officers credit in part to public involvement.
Joel Weaver, 22, of 114 Liberty St., Quincy, was arrested on a warrant handed up by a Shelby County Grand Jury for trafficking in marijuana, a fourth-degree felony.
The grand jury indictment also dictates the defendant give up his vehicle, a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina, because it was used to transport marijuana.
Mr. Weaver, and another defendant, Samantha Rhoades, 29, of Covington, each was arrested about 9 a.m. Friday prior to the beginning of their shift at Emerson Climate Technologies.
Ms. Rhoades was charged with trafficking in prescription pills, a fourth-degree felony.
