Lakeview Village Council was advised of counterfeit money being circulated, and recognized two long-time public servants for their years of service at a regular meeting.
Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Donnie Day told council that fake 20 dollar bills are being presented to local businesses, and warned council to be on the lookout for any fake money that may try to be passed off at the village office.
Council presented plaques to Linda Miller, outgoing fiscal officer and Vicki Slotten, outgoing assistant water and electric clerk, and thanked them for their many years of service to the village of Lakeview.
Council discussed the possibility of hosting a farmers’ market in Lakeview this growing season, an idea currently being considered by the Lakeview Business Group.
