MARYSVILLE — Investigators confirmed Monday that the Marysville woman who lost her life after a January house fire had set the blaze herself in a possible suicide attempt.
Just after 1 p.m., Jan. 17, the Marysville Fire Department responded with mutual aid to 712 W. Fifth St. on a report of a two-story house fire. Resident Jennifer Fuller Pummell, 38, was reportedly trapped inside. In a call to 911, she asked for help, indicating she could not escape.
Firefighters found Pummell unconscious inside a back room and pulled her to safety through a window. She was transported to Memorial Hospital of Union County for severe smoke inhalation and then transferred to the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, where she died from her injuries Monday, Jan. 27.
