4 sent to hospital after winter weather crash

Three adults and a child were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital following a two-vehicle crash about 5 p.m. Monday on State Route 235 just south of DeGraff.


Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Lacey W. Herndon-Pike, 37, of Bellefontaine, was operating a westbound car when she lost control and slid into the eastbound lane in the area of 4019 S. S.R. 235. Her vehicle was struck in the passenger side door by an eastbound car operated by Anthony W. Poe, 39, of Quincy.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital by Robinaugh and Quincy squads for incapacitating injuries. Two passengers in the Poe vehicle, Chrysta L. Poe, 34, and Kyrsten N. Poe, 12, both of Quincy, also were transported by Riverside squads to the hospital. Chrysta sustained incapacitating injuries, while the 12-year-old sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

Damage was disabling to both vehicles. Ms. Herndon-Pike was cited for failure to control.

Driver cited after vehicle drives up guide wire

Dennis L. Kramer, 67, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control after an incident about 4:15 p.m. Friday on State Route 540 near Township Road 126.

He reportedly was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a guide wire, and then his vehicle drove up the wire. The driver reported possible injuries, but was not transported.

Damage was moderate to the SUV.
