Preston L. Robinson, 24, of 8023 County Road 54, Lewistown, was charged with one count of abduction, a felony, following an incident early Sunday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 8890 Township Road 239, Russells Point, about 4:25 a.m. in reference to an abduction. A male subject reportedly had a woman in a car at that location and would not let her leave.
When deputies arrived, they took Mr. Robinson into custody, and were able to talk with the victim, Amber Arnold, 26, of Bellefontaine.
She said an altercation with the defendant began that evening at Captain’s Point, 305 E. Harrison Ave., Lakeview, where he reportedly took her cell phone. He told her that he would drop off her cell phone at a friend’s residence in Bellefontaine.
When she went to the Bellefontaine residence, Mr. Robinson reportedly drove off with Ms. Arnold in his vehicle and refused to let her leave. She said he drove recklessly, and then he allowed her to drive the vehicle and also to call a friend.
Ms. Arnold said the defendant also made threats to harm her and himself during the incident. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
