Schools combined to receive more than half of the county amount
Logan County’s take of casino tax revenue totaled $137,997 from the final three months of 2013 and area schools were distributed a combined $387,563 for the whole year, according to information from the Ohio Department of Taxation.
The Logan County Commission received its quarterly allocation from the state Jan. 6. That final collection of the year pushed Logan County’s 2013 casino tax revenue total to about $540,000.
Each casino tax distribution is placed into Logan County’s capital improvements fund, Commissioners Tony Core, John Bayliss and Dustin Wickersham have said. Individual counties receive their casino tax allocations four times each year.
