Ridgemont Local Schools officials announced plans during their recent board of education meeting that the district will seek advertisements for bids for the construction of the new pre-K through 12 school building.
Advertising for bids is expected to begin Feb. 13, and the tentative date to open bids is March 13.
If all goes as planned, groundbreaking for the new school is tentatively scheduled for April, Superintendent Emmy Beeson said. The school will be constructed at the west edge of Mt. Victory on land donated by the Elliott family.
Voters passed a 5.57-mill bond issue to provide the local share of the $22 million project. The Ohio School Facilities Commission will pay 76 percent of the cost.
