UNION COUNTY — A Marysville man with a lengthy criminal record was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday following a traffic stop in Union County.
Timothy P. Smith, 28, was stopped for a speeding violation about 12:30 p.m. on State Route 4 near Macklin Road, troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report.
Troopers detected the presence of alcohol and/or drugs during the stop. Mr. Smith reportedly refused a breathalyzer test.
The driver also was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving under OVI suspension, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container, and a seat belt violation. He is also wanted on a warrant out of Delaware County.
Troopers said this is Mr. Smith's fourth OVI offense, three of which have occurred in the past six years.
He was arrested and lodged in the Tri-County Regional Jail.
