Bellefontaine City Council members will get a first look Tuesday at the city’s permanent budget for this year and it is a spending plan that is very similar to the temporary one passed in December.
“We’re a little ahead of schedule,” Finance Chairwoman Deb Baker said during this morning’s committee meeting. “But we did start earlier last year.”
If accepted over three readings by the council, the almost $23.5 million budget will be in place by the end of February rather than the customary last meeting in March.
But there is still work to be done, the committee and city administration say.
