A Zanesfield area man who contacted authorities about a crash Thursday in which he was involved was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Robert Johnson, 44, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot E4, was driving an eastbound pickup truck about 4:45 p.m. on State Route 292 just west of County Road 153 when he lost control, went off the north side of the road and struck a guardrail, troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report.
Troopers said Mr. Johnson left the crash scene, contacted authorities from his nearby residence.
The driver refused medical treatment at the scene for possible injuries. He also was cited for a seat belt violation and failure to maintain control. The pickup sustained functional damage to the front-end bumper area.
• Carol Sexton, 73, of Ostrander, was cited for failure to maintain control after a crash about 8:30 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 33 between State Route 347 and the Union County line.
Troopers report Ms. Sexton was driving a sport utility vehicle in the right lane of U.S. 33 when she lost control on wet pavement, overcorrected and spun off the right side of the road. The vehicle then struck a fence and a concrete culvert before coming to rest in a ditch.
Neither Ms. Sexton nor a passenger in her vehicle reported any injuries. They were wearing their seat belts. The SUV was towed from the scene.
