Domestic violence summonses issued

Two people each was issued a summons Tuesday and charged with biting and kicking at one another during a domestic dispute.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded about 5:40 p.m. to a residence at 300 N. Detroit St. A neighbor contacted police and reported the male and female frequently fought and were currently in another altercation.

When officers arrived, Kimberly Evans, 21, answered the door and told police she didn’t need their help and hadn’t called them. Shortly, Brad Evans, 20, came to the door and told officers he was trying to go to work when his girlfriend began yelling at him.

Statements from both suspects were taken, Ms. Evans said she’d been kicked with a steel-toed boot and had been pinned against a bed.

Mr. Evans told police the woman had bit him on the leg.

Photographs of the injuries were taken, and police issued summonses for domestic violence.

Man lodged for lying to police, warrant

Terrick D. Ellis, 38, at large, was issued a summons about 10 p.m. Tuesday for failure to appear in Bellefontaine Municipal Court.  

He was also charged with driving under suspension and obstructing official business.

He was observed driving a vehicle eastbound in the 500 block of west Chillicothe Ave. When police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled over and he and another man ran into a residence at 434 west Chillicothe Ave.

When he was eventually questioned by police, the suspect attempted to mislead police, providing them with a false name.

He was lodged in Logan County Jail.
