WAYNESFIELD — Fire, EMS and other personnel from at least 10 departments, including Lakeview and Russells Point, were called about 6:20 p.m. Monday to a fire at Lattimer’s Warehouse, 15400 State Route 196, Waynesfield.

As of 11 p.m. officials at the scene were unaware of the cause of the fire and still were conducting an investigation.

It was reported that a large quantity of rubber and wood caught fire. Auglaize County EMA Director Troy Anderson was directing all non-emergency people at the scene to stay south, out of the path of the smoke from the fire, because of toxicity.

Wayne Township Fire Chief Albert Presnell said the investigation was ongoing.

At least 50 firefighters and 30 separate emergency vehicles were counted at the scene.
