Inmate charged with vandalism

PARMER

PARMER

Matthew J. Parmer, 44, of 717 Euclid Ave., Bellefontaine, who is currently incarcerated in the Logan County Jail, was charged with vandalism following an incident about 6:15 a.m. Sunday at the jail.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that the inmate was being disciplined for failing to comply with the order of a corrections officer and was being moved to another cell.

Once he was moved to the other cell, he damaged a sink, which in turn caused a water line to break. Damage estimates are currently being compiled by the sheriff’s office.

The inmate continued to be combative with corrections officers, and he was sprayed with pepper spray. No one was injured during the incident.

During an incident last month at the jail, staff members found that Mr. Parmer had taken his meal tray and used it to damage a communications speaker and heat sensor in his cell. He was issued a charge of criminal damaging for that incident.
