MARYSVILLE — Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded Thursday afternoon to a three-vehicle injury crash on State Route 31 just south of State Route 739 north of Marysville.
Troopers report Maegan Doggett, 20, of Ostrander, was driving a northbound car about 2:40 p.m. on S.R. 31 when she lost control on a snow-covered portion of road, went off the right side of the road and struck two mailboxes. She then overcorrected, traveled back
onto the roadway, crossed the centerline and struck a southbound tractor-trailer head-on.
A southbound sport utility vehicle traveling behind the semi took evasive action to avoid the crash, went off the right side of the road and struck a small tree.
Ms. Doggett and her 1-year-old passenger each sustained incapacitating injuries and were taken by North Union EMS to Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville. The driver was extricated from the car with machinery, troopers said.
Neither the semi’s driver, Kevin Kleinhenz, 48, of Mason, Mich., nor the SUV’s driver, Jennifer Jones, 41, of London, reported any injuries. They reportedly were wearing seat belts.
Ms. Doggett was cited for failure to maintain control.
