The vehicle in which he was riding reportedly was eastbound  on U.S. 33 in the area of the U.S. Route 36/State Route 4 overpass when the driver lost control and traveled through the grassy median into the westbound lanes where it was struck by a westbound semi operated by Justin L. Webb, 27, of Urbana. After the impact, the semi went off the right side of the road and came to rest in a ditch. The car came to rest in the roadway, blocking both westbound lanes of U.S. 33.

Mr. You and another passenger, Abhishek Mamgain, 27, of Columbus, each sustained incapacitating injuries and were transported to Memorial Hospital, and later to OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Weather is believed to be a factor in the crash. The westbound lanes of U.S. 33 were closed for approximately an hour while crews cleared the roadway.

Troopers were assisted by the Marysville Police Department, Marysville Fire Department and EMS, ODOT and the Marysville City Department.
