The Logan County Board of Elections met Thursday to officially certify all candidates to appear on the March primary election ballot.
Officials also approved two local liquor options for the ballot, one for Wal-Mart and the other for Fields Grocery in West Mansfield.
As an in-house cost-saving measure, the board will be consolidating several precincts.
“The change will be nothing voters will notice,” said Director Lucinda Holycross, adding where and the way they vote will not change. The move only affects the way the office handles the precincts in house.
Jefferson North and South will become one precinct, as will West Liberty East and West; Stokes North and Northeast; and Miami and Quincy. Each precinct still will have its own ballot and will not cross issues or candidates, nor will it result in the divisions voting on each other’s issues.
In other matters, the board reviewed pre-general campaign finance reports.
The office will be closed Dec. 23, 26 and 28-30, and Jan. 2. The office will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 27.
The next regular meeting is at 8 a.m. Jan. 12.
