Officers wrap up crash reports

Britnie F. Swearengin, 27, of Bellefontaine, was cited for improper backing after a two-vehicle crash in front of her 1317 Turner Road residence around 4:20 p.m. Monday.

She told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department she was backing out and her sport utility vehicle slid into a westbound pickup truck driven by Nathan I. Newcomb, 23, of Bellefontaine. Damage was moderate.

• Denis Rumer, 61, of Cridersville, told police he was northbound on Main Street at Chillicothe Avenue when a white pickup truck operated by a white male hit the rear of his car around 3:15 p.m. Monday.

The other motorist drove off. Damage was light.

• Freddy Hernandez-Espinoza, 42, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead after his southbound sport utility vehicle hit the rear of a SUV operated by Nancy L. Groves, 78, of Bellefontaine, around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at Main Street and Lake Avenue.

Damage was light.

Items taken from home

Emily Moore reported Wednesday electronics and jewelry were taken from her 605 Saxon Drive home. She provided a name of a male suspect to officers.
