Wade R. Clem, 31, of 2531 State Route 287, West Liberty, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for failure to control following a crash early Monday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a crash about 4:40 a.m. on U.S. Route 68 near Virginia Drive.
Mr. Clem reportedly had been operating a southbound car when his vehicle slid off the right side of the road in icy weather conditions into the ditch.
When deputies arrived, the driver said his vehicle was stuck in the ditch. Deputies detected an odor of alcoholic beverage, and started to perform field sobriety tests at the scene. The tests were continued at the Logan County Jail because of weather conditions.
Mr. Clem tested a 0.124 blood alcohol content level and also submitted to a urine sample.
