Casey S. Barney, 5720 S. County Road 31, was issued a summons for criminal damaging following an incident Tuesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Main and Hayes streets in DeGraff about 11:30 p.m. in reference to a vandalism complaint.
They spoke with Jacob Arrowood of Cable, who reported that he and several friends were driving in the area that evening when they observed another vehicle driving very closely behind them on State Route 508 and then into DeGraff.
In the area of Hayes and Main streets, the driver stopped behind them and approached their vehicle. The driver, later identified as Mr. Barney, argued with Mr. Arrowood about driving recklessly near his residence.
Upon leaving, the defendant reportedly struck and broke a rear window of the vehicle. Deputies observed a small amount of blood near the broken window.
Based upon the suspect’s vehicle description, deputies located the vehicle and Mr. Barney at his residence. He told them that he had observed the Arrowood vehicle “doing burn-outs” near his home, so he decided to get in his vehicle and follow them.
He had sustained minor injury to his hand from striking the windshield.
