Minor injures in weather-related crashes

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol provided details on a pair of recent injury crashes and noted that at least 15 crash reports remain incomplete as of this morning.

• Daniel Brooks, 50, of North Lewisburg, was treated for minor injuries at the scene of a single-vehicle crash about 7:15 a.m. Monday on U.S. Route 33 about a mile west of the Logan-Union County line.

Troopers report Mr. Brooks was driving a westbound tractor-trailer on U.S. Route 33 when he lost control, jackknifed and traveled off the right side of the road where the semi came to rest in the median.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for failure to maintain control. Troopers were assisted by Allen Township EMS.

• Emily Moore, 34, of Bellefontaine, was taken by Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries after a Jan. 2 crash on U.S. Route 68 near Township Road 199.

Ms. Moore was driving a southbound car about 12:42 p.m. on U.S. 68 when she lost control on a slush-covered portion of the roadway, went off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for failure to maintain control.
