UPDATE: Weather cancellations

Logan County remains on a level 1 snow emergency, while Champaign County upgraded to a level 2 emergency about 5 p.m. Monday.

Because of the weather, the following cancellations have been issued:

Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Calvary Christian, Indian Lake, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, Riverside, West Liberty-Salem,  Ridgemont, Triad, Urbana, Waynesfield-Goshen, Upper Scioto Valley, Mac-A-Cheek, Discovery Center, Noah's Ark

Cold shuts down Honda production

Extreme cold temperatures has led Honda of America Manufacturing Inc. to cancel production shift B and C for today and A for Tuesday at its Marysville and East Liberty auto plants and at the Anna Engine Plant.

Belletech Corp. has canceled it second shift for today and first shift for Tuesday. Its third shift, which supplies a Ford plant in Canada, will run as scheduled.

ISS America Inc. has canceled its second shift for today and both shifts for Tuesday. Normal production will resume Wednesday.

AGC Automotive Americas has suspended production for it B and C shifts for today and overnight. Maintenance personnel are to report for work and shipping associates as notified by the company. 

The autoglass manufacturer has yet to decide the status of Tuesday's first shift. Employees are encouraged to check the production status phone line.

Officials from Hi Point Women's Center report that the office at 110 N. Detroit St. is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Lakeview council cancels meeting

Because of inclement weather, Lakeview Village Council has canceled its regular meeting scheduled for tonight. The next regular meeting is Monday, Jan. 20.

Sewer board meeting canceled

The Joint Sewer Board meeting for the villages of DeGraff and Quincy scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6 has been canceled because of the weather. The meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at the Joint Sewer Plant.

Trash pickup delayed a day in city

Because of the extreme temperature and weather conditions, there is no refuse pickup Tuesday by Allied Waste Service, a division of Republic Services, in Bellefontaine.

Collection service should begin again Wednesday, and will be one day late for customers during the week.

Russells Point council cancels meeting

Because of inclement weather, Russells Point Village Council has canceled its regular meeting scheduled for tonight, and rescheduled it for 7 p.m. Jan. 13.
