Two hours of waiting didn’t dampen Pamela Reed’s joy Wednesday as 6.89 gallons of free gasoline were pumped into her car.

“This is cool,” she said as Richwood Banking Co.’s Lori Midkiff dispensed $20 in gasoline. “Especially here at Christmas. Every little bit helps.”
Ms. Reed, a customer of the bank, lives north of Huntsville Marathon and she was one of the first of 200 motorists to receive the bank’s gift when the lines opened up at 1:30 p.m.
“I listened to the radio and drank the free coffee and ate the free cookies,” she said.
