Cody R. “Beach” Predmore, 22, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. C3, Bellefontaine, was charged with a felony count of theft, a misdemeanor count of theft, and three counts of misuse of a credit card following an incident Wednesday that began at Mad River Mountain, 1000 Snow Valley Road, Valley Hi.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the ski resort about 5:30 p.m. to speak with Ashley Childress, 18, of Lewisville; and Jonathan L. Cunningham, 19, of Jerusalem, Ohio.
The pair reported they had left two duffle bags at the ski lodge while they were skiing that day. When they went back to the lodge, the two bags were missing.
The duffle bags contained cell phones, clothing and food.
Ms. Childress used a GPS to track her cell phone to a Henry Street address in Bellefontaine. Deputies went to that location, and spoke with residents there, who said Mr. Predmore reportedly had left two duffle bags at the home.
Using the GPS again, the phone was tracked to the area of Burger King, 2005 S. Main St., and deputies soon located the suspect’s vehicle on Washington Avenue.
The defendant reportedly had used Mr. Cunningham’s credit card to make two transactions, and had attempted to make a third transaction at Burger King. He also had Ms. Childress’ cell phone in his possession and reportedly was wearing Mr. Cunningham’s clothing.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
