UPDATE: Semi wreck slows morning commute


One of three wreckers works early Wednesday to pull a tractor-trailer out of a ditch along U.S. Route 33 between State Route 292 and State Route 347. Gary L. Green, 45, of Kenton, was driving the eastbound semi on U.S. 33 about 12:10 a.m. when he lost control and traveled off the right side of the road, troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report. The semi then struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and came to rest in a wooded area. Mr. Green sustained non-incapacitating injuries, but was not transported. Perry Township Fire and EMS and Ohio Department of Transportation personnel assisted at the scene. Mr. Green, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for failure to maintain control. He reportedly was engaged in a telephone call using a wireless headset at the time of the incident. Traffic was reduced to one lane from the crash site west to near Valley Hi.
