The Logan County Sheriff’s Office seeks assistance from the public in finding a vehicle involved in a hit-skip crash Friday.
Deputies report a horse and buggy driven by Amos Schwartz, 62, of 10134 Township Road 75, Quincy, was struck from the rear in the 3000 block of south State Route 235 about 5:45 p.m.
Neither Mr. Schwartz nor the animal were injured in the collision, which caused the horse to “spook” and run from the scene. Mr. Schwartz later reported the older horse was found dead. The buggy was equipped with reflective tape and two rear lights, deputies said.
Mr. Schwartz had no description of the vehicle, but said it continued southbound.
Deputies expect it to have minor damage on the right front or the right side.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact the sheriff’s office at 592-5731.
