William A. Board, 26, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot W2, Zanesfield, was charged with assault and possession of marijuana after an incident early Saturday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to 106 N. Koke St., DeGraff, about 1:45 a.m., where they spoke with resident Lindsay Nickles, 25.
She reported that the defendant had shoved her that evening while they had been at an area bar. The pair then went back to her residence, where she said he pushed her onto the floor and punched her in the face and pulled her hair.
Deputies observed slight swelling to her lip and noted that Mr. Board was highly intoxicated. He denied assaulting Ms. Nickles.
Deputies placed Mr. Board under arrest. He attempted to pass a small amount of marijuana to Ms. Nickles, and then was issued the marijuana charge. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
1 transported after wintry weather crash
Terri A. Peyton, 42, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for possible injuries sustained in a crash during winter weather conditions Friday afternoon.
She reportedly was operating a southbound car in the 1700 block of County Road 130 at 5:20 p.m. when a northbound minivan operated by George M. Hunter, 57, of Huntsville, went left of center and struck her vehicle. Both vehicles then went off the west side of the road and struck a fence.
Mr. Hunter and his passenger did not report any injuries. Damage was disabling to the minivan and moderate to the car.
Mr. Hunter was cited for failure to control.
