Boy treated after running into car’s path

BellefontainePolice patch

A 13-year-old Bellefontaine boy was injured Thursday when he attempted to cross south Main Street in the 200 block around 5:45 p.m.

Adam L. Parmer was on his way to his father’s residence and ran east from an alley into the path of a southbound car operated by Benjamin J. Yelton, 26, of Bellefontaine. He told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department he did not see the car.

A Bellefontaine squad arrived, but he was transported by his mother to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

No citations were issued.

Man faces theft charge

Charles L. Craig, 37, of North Lewisburg, was charged Thursday with theft after he was caught concealing ground beef and cheese in his coat at Wal-Mart, 2281 S. Main St., on Sunday.

He handed over the items when confronted and fled an office when informed the store was calling the police.

Officers used surveillance photographs to identify the suspect and issued him a summons during a 3:30 p.m. traffic stop Thursday in the 600 block of Garfield Avenue.
