Three people were issued summonses for disorderly conduct Sunday afternoon after a neighbor dispute in West Mansfield.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to south Main Street in the village about 4 p.m. in reference to multiple calls received about the dispute, including one caller who said an individual was holding a wrench.
When deputies arrived, the parties had separated. They spoke with Charles H. Wood, 71, and his wife, Gladys Wood, 68, of 274 S. Main St., who said they had been in an argument with their neighbor, Martin D. Trafton, 49, of 262 S. Main St.
Mr. and Mrs. Wood said Mr. Trafton began to strike a fence during the confrontation and then crossed onto their property and allegedly pushed Mr. Wood to the ground.
Mr. Trafton said he confronted the couple about their dogs barking, and Mr. Woods responded with profanity. Mr. Trafton admitted to striking the fence, and said he went onto the Woods’ property, but didn’t have physical contact with Mr. Wood.
Other neighbors who witnessed the argument said they did not observe any physical contact between the two parties.
Each of the individuals were issued summonses.
